Wise Or Woke?
When you confuse being woke with being wise, it’s easy to get lost.


1 Corinthians 3:18-20 Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, “He traps the wise in the snare of their own cleverness.” 20 And again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise; he knows they are worthless.


What’s the difference between being intelligent and being wise? Do you spend more time on new media or in the word?
I want to encourage you this month to be intentional about spending more time in the word and less time on Facebook and twitter.

Ephesians 4:29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
Focusing on the new gossip news while being oblivious to God’s truth is like only eating lemon meringue pie for every meal and snack, eventually you’ll get bloated and sick. Instead come to the Lord’s table and enjoy a feast that builds strength and health.


Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
When we seek sustenance from the Lord, we are healthy, and whole. The only place to find life transforming wisdom is in God’s Word.
