God Will Anoint You For What He Asks Of You

God Will Anoint You For What He Asks Of You

Luke 4:18

The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,

God thoroughly equips and empowers us through faith to complete every task in His will, before He ever asks us to do things for Him. This anointing through the Holy Spirit allows us the ability to accomplish the impossible in His strength. God also anoints our lives so that we can be a blessing to the needs of others around us.

Galatians 5:22-25

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Without the Lord’s leading and anointing we are destined to frustration and defeat, but if we seek His will and follow His lead, our Lord is faithful and will accomplish many great things through us. If we stay in step with the Holy Spirit, His power will continue to be renewed within us.

James 4:2-3

You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet, but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

What are you pursuing in life that you suspect isn’t God’s will for you? If we try to please our wants, we end up in contentious relationships. When we ask God, being led by the Spirit, we are given what we need, and we experience satisfaction and contentment.

What Is the Holy Spirit saying to you through these scriptures?
