Are You On The Right Path?

Are You On The Right Path?

What is it that causes you to get a little stuck in life, unable to make decisions and weighed down by stress? Indecision can cause anxiety and frustration so it’s important to have clarity of thought as we are moving forward on the right path that God has for us, but that requires that we trust Him more than we trust ourselves.

Proverbs 3:5-6     Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways of knowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

If we’re focused on the ditch while driving, eventually we will end up in the ditch. We won’t be successful if we look to the stars for answers. God has a specific plan for our lives, and He has gifted us to accomplish what He’s prepared us to do, but we need to follow His lead.

A few months ago, my wife and I were walking on a trail in the mountains. After a few miles the trail split unexpectedly into two different directions. I pretended to be confident as I headed down one of the paths. My vibrato soon crumbled when the trail came to an end in the middle of nowhere. As I thought back to how I acted on the trail to nowhere, I realized I got louder and more talkative and stressed as I was trying to cover up my growing doubts about my decision. A refreshed soul comes from being on His right path. We can’t know God’s path if we are turning to our knowledge or our feelings, rather than Him and His word. So often Christians are looking for God’s will for their lives instead of looking to God. When you focus on Him, things become incredibly clear through seeing what He is doing and joining Him in it.

Proverbs 2:9   Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity,                    every good path.

The enemy wants us to be anxious and confused about our direction in life so we will stop moving forward. So, the question is, how do we hear from the Lord and adjust our response to Him?
