Dealing With Suffering And Doubt

Hebrews 11:1   Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

We will also be blessed if we trust in the goodness of the Lord, not the tranquility of the journey. Know that our greatest challenges and wounds, don’t take us out of God’s plan for our future. That’s what faith looks like when experienced. The world of God isn’t just nice ideas, but the truth that we hold on to if we are to be blessed by the trials. God’s word is what our faith is built on. There are many promises that God gives us in His word, but to experience them we need to read and accept them. One of the greatest ways to increase our faith is growing in the truth of God’s word. Eventually we will experience life transformation and we will start speaking God’s truths in love to our friends and family.

When we hit the wall of crisis in life, there are two ways forward. Crisis can build up or it can shake our faith. When King David was being attacked from the outside as well as those closest to him, he made a commitment to trust the Lord and not live in fear.

Psalm 25:1-5

To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
O my God, I trust in You;
Let me not be ashamed;
Let not my enemies’ triumph over me.
Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed;
Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.

Show me Your ways, O Lord;
Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day.

David starts off by making a plea for deliverance. He is completely dependent on the Lord for His safety and peace of mind. When the tough times got worse, his faith kept him on the Lord’s path.
