The Costs Of Misplaced Anger In Your Life

The Costs Of Misplaced Anger In Your Life

Road rage is out of control. Someone beeps at a car, and they end up in the hospital. Uncontrolled anger has a painful price tag. We’ve all seen too many examples of stupidity unleashed in anger.

Proverbs 29:22

An angry person stirs up conflict, and a hot-tempered person commits many sins.

The Bible is very clear on the cost of anger. The one who gives in to anger creates a multitude of sins. Anger usually gets a response. It grows quickly in the hearts and minds of most who witness its destruction. We are taught to get even or get ahead when someone wrongs you. Maybe not in words but often in the actions of those around us.

Proverbs 15:18

A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.

Proverbs 14:29-30 29

Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.
30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.

God’s word is also clear on the final conclusion of inappropriately expressed anger with our family members.

Proverbs 11:29

The fool who provokes his family to anger and resentment will finally have nothing worthwhile left.

The result of inappropriate anger is alienation. After an outburst of anger, look to see if anyone is staying close to your side or if you are by yourself feeling self-righteous or embarrassed.
