Delayed Obedience Is Disobedience

Delayed Obedience Is Disobedience

Genesis 12:1-4

1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

So Abram went, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran.

Abraham obeyed quickly even though the cost was great. God knew Abam’s heart and his willingness to follow. When we obey quickly it spreads the blessing and our influence.

Influence is the sister of wisdom and wisdom gives powerful influence.

People will follow you if you have the wisdom to obey God quickly.

When we evaluate our situation before we obey the Lord, we are showing a desire do things our own way. Delayed obedience is disobedience.

Proverbs 13:10

Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.

Search your heart over the next few days and ask God to reveal any areas in your life where you are insisting on delayed obedience to His will for your life. Repent and commit to a quick obedience.
