What stops you from asking God to forgive you?
Ecclesiastes 7:20
Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins”.
God ready and willing right now, to give you another chance. That’s a foundational truth of Christianity. We’ve all been foolish and messed up.
How has guilt affected you mentally, emotionally, and spiritually?
Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
Some of us know what it is like to live with a parent who excels at the guilt trip. When you grow up with a parent who has a Masters in guilt and shame, it is easy to transfer that mindset to our heavenly Father. Prescriptions are being passed out at record highs mostly because we don’t know how to deal with our guilt and shame.
So, what can we do? Is there a way to live in today’s world without being bombarded with shame?
Proverbs 28:13
He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
If we confess and turn away from our sin, we will prosper, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. God wants us to thrive, not just survive. He’s provided a way for us to have peace in the midst of chaos. We don’t have to live with guilt if we have been transformed by the gospel, through belief in Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
We can live with a sense of purpose and hope. Many times, God even brings blessings out of the stupid decisions that we’ve made if we confess and repent. So, lets confess and turn away form our sin and then turn to Christ for His truth and power to replace the lie we’ve been living under. Our sin doesn’t change how God sees us. It doesn’t even surprise Him. God has a future for us that will be greater than anything we can imagine, and it will last for all eternity.
