What choices can we make today to have healthy minds?

What choices can we make today to have healthy minds?

Proverbs 15:14

The discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

Junk in, junk out. If you want knowledge that leads to wise choices, you need to let set aside our fast-food culture and take in the healthy nutritional food of God’s word. When we feed our minds with God truth the cultural poison won’t be so tempting.
It’s true that we live in a fast-food society where we expect instant gratification in most areas of life, but that doesn’t mean we should fill our minds with cheap junk food culture. Sitcoms won’t provide the wisdom we need to make good choices and enjoy peace of mind.

Romans 6:1-2a

What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means!

Sin doesn’t need to get a stronghold in our lives. Just like I tell my kids, who you hang out with will greatly affect the choices you make. If we hang out with Beavis and Butt-head, we are destined for a myriad of bad decisions and broken relationships, but if we spend time daily with the God of all creation, wise thoughts will be followed by good deeds and peace of mind.

Wise people protect their minds. They don’t guzzle down the poison of pornography and allow sin to pollute their thinking and their souls.

Are you choosing to fill your mind with junk food or poison?

Proverbs 2:6

For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
