A Power Struggle: Isaiah (Series)

Isaiah 1:1-4 (2) Listen, O heavens! Pay attention, earth! This is what the Lord says: “The children I raised and cared for have rebelled against me.

The pain and sorrow of rebellious children.

Isaiah 1:5-9 (5) Why do you continue to invite punishment? Must you rebel forever? Your head is injured, and your heart is sick.

What happens when people turn their backs on God.

Isaiah 1:10-17 (15) When you lift up your hands in prayer, I will not look. Though you offer many prayers, I will not listen, for your hands are covered with the blood of innocent victims.

God isn’t after religious expression, He’s after your heart.

Isaiah 1:18–20 (18) “Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.

We cannot heal ourselves.

Isaiah 1:21–25(25) I will turn my head against you; I will thoroughly purge your dross and remove all your impurities.

There are consequences to our actions.

Isaiah 1:26–31(27) Zion will be restored by justice; those who repent will be revived by righteousness.

God always keeps His promises.
