That’s Not Fair God!

That’s Not Fair God!

Matthew 20: 1-16

The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard. (Read Matthew 20:1-16) The key to overcoming jealousy and envy is to stop comparing yourself to others. If you do start comparing, you will struggle with pride or jealousy: Pride: I’m so much better than that person. jealousy: I can’t begin to compare myself with that person.

When you get to know people closely, you’re not jealous of them, instead you can learn how to pray for them. Jealousy isolates us, but fellowship binds us together.

Proverbs 27:4 Wrath is fierce and anger is a flood, But who can stand before jealousy?

Proverbs 14:30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. Who is someone you have been jealous of? How has that affected your relationship with that person?

Matthew 20:9-11 “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. 10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. 11 When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner. Jealousy and envy ultimately cause us to blame God. Are you holding anything from your past, against God?
