What Would You Do (Series)

Proverbs 25:6-7

Do not exalt yourself in the king’s presence,
and do not claim a place among his great men;
it is better for him to say to you, “Come up here,”
than for him to humiliate you before his nobles.

Pride is an ugly sin with great consequences.

Where or with who do you struggle with pride?

James 2:1-4

My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don’t show favoritism. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

Faith stands directly against bigotry, racism, and hate.

Search your heart, what is the Holy Spirit saying to you?

James 2:8-9

If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin  and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.

The greatest expression of maturity in faith is love.

Favoritism is sin, so what is favoritism?
