(Read Luke 2:4-14) Luke 1:12-13 When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. 13 But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. Do not be afraid, God still answers prayer. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Luke 1:29-30 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. Do not be afraid, God will never leave you. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Luke 2:9-10 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Do not be afraid, God keeps His promises. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. The answer to fear isn’t courage. The answer to fear is love!
