No One Can Defeat God’s Will
Courage In A Hostile Culture (Stories From Daniel)
Nebuchadnezzar is corrupted through vanity and pride.
Daniel’s interpretation of the King’s dream.
Daniel urges the king to repent and avoid this terrible judgment.
The king is humbled through insanity.
At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor were returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne and became even greater than before. 37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
God loves us enough to give us opportunities to be humbled.
Where is pride causing damage in your life?
Are you willing to trust God more than you trust yourself?
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
God’s goal for us isn’t just forgiveness, even though that’s an incredible gift. His goal for us is full restoration.
God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through His word?
