Giving Up Your Idols (Series)

Philippians 2:12

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

What kind of relationship does Christ want to have with you?

Matthew 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

The first word in verse 22 is very troubling. “Many,” is a lot more than a few.

Have you ever been driving on a road on your way home, then all of the sudden you realize you’re not on the right road?

Don’t confuse feelings with faith.

Do your life choices show what you believe?

Do our actions put us on the right road?

Matthew 7:13-14

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

How important is it that we slow down and get the right directions?  Spend some time this week reflecting on, understanding your relationship
