Satan Uses Your Emotions To Cause Conflict
I love climbing, although the older I get I realize the consequences of a bad
decision. The key to rock climbing is to use your legs more than your arms.
Every gifted climber knows how to get a good foothold. Satan is always
looking to get a strong foothold in our lives. Through relationships, bad
decisions, fear, and guilt. He will use whatever he can to lie his way into a
good foothold in our lives. The question is, how do we get the upper hand
and the foothold away from him?

Ephesians 4:22-27
22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put
off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to
be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new
self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to
your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26 “In your anger
do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still
angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold.

There is an unseen spiritual battle going on behind the scenes in all
arguments. They may look as though they are about mundane things at the
surface, but just like a glacier, things get bigger the deeper your go. The
dishes, the laundry, all that matters to the enemy is chaos and discord.
Satan will use whatever he can to breed rejection, anger, and revenge. We
need to keep asking ourselves when it comes to our close relationships. Is
it more important to be loving or to be right. Satan is the architect of all
quarrels.

When we start firing in anger, Satan has already prepared his arsenal of
destruction. In the heat of the moment, the most important thing can be
having the last word because of our pride. Sometimes we are so full of
ourselves we are completely unaware of the pain we our brining on others.
How can we fight against that kind of power? Go to the truth of God’s word
and don’t give him a foothold. Greater is God who is in you, than Satan that
is in the world.
