Hearing From God In Times Of Confusion

Who helps you discover the right path when you are confused?

Last week I talked on the video about being on the right path that God has for us (Psalm 25:1-4). This week I want us to look at how we can have the right vision to see the path we need to take.
Psalm 25:9

“He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way”.

Admit that you need help. This requires humility.

We go about our days like we know what to do in everyday situations without praying about what God would have us do. We deal with work, school, family trips and other small, day to day decisions without seeking God’s direction. That’s probable why it’s hard to recognize His voice when the big challenges come around.

James 1:5

“If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask him, and he will gladly tell you, for he is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask him; he will not resent it.

We think we have all the answers, so we aren’t willing to admit we need help. We need to humble ourselves and be honest with God about needing His guidance, and not just in the big things.

Ask God in faith that He will show you the path to take.
James 1:6

But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to tell you, for a doubtful mind will be as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

We need to go to the One who can give us the answers we seek. You don’t go to the pastor to cut your hair. If you do, you will be very sorry. I tried cutting my hair a few months ago and it didn’t go well at all. Luckily my daughter is a beautician, and she fix everything. We need to ask God who is able to help with an attitude of expectancy and trust. God honors our faith and will show us the right path if we will just ask.

Why do you think God wants you to pray expectantly?
