Have you been waiting on God to reveal something?

Have you been waiting on God to reveal something?

Have you been waiting on God to reveal something?

Ecclesiastes 5:14                                                                                                                                                                     As you enter the house of God, keep your ears open and your mouth shut. It is evil to make mindless offerings to God. Don’t make rash promises, and don’t be hasty in bringing matters before God. After all, God is in heaven, and you are here on earth. So let your words be few. Too much activity gives you restless dreams; too many words make you a fool. When you make a promise to God, don’t delay in following through, for God takes no pleasure in fools. Keep all the promises you make to him.

Sometimes we want to hear from the Lord about His will for our future, but we are not listening to Him in the present. We want God to speak about major decisions, but we don’t bother to seek him in the everyday things. Why would God tell us something about tomorrow when we are ignoring Him today? Are we consistently in His word or do we only want to hear from Him in miraculous ways? Are we being obedient to what we read in His word, or do we read it and not put His truth into practice?

Often when we pray, God wants to use us in answering our own prayers. We will miss many blessings if we never take part in a response of obedience. We need to take part in what God is already doing.

How can you show God that you want to be obedient to do the things He’s already told you to do in his Word?

What is God doing right now in your church, at your work, and in your family? How can you join Him in what He is already doing? Don’t wait till another New Year comes around, commit to being a doer of the word today. What are you waiting for? The more time you spend listening in prayer, the better off you will be. Remember the first sentence in Ecclesiastes 5, “As you enter the house of God, keep your ears open and your mouth shut.”

What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through these scriptures?
