Have you looked for truth in other places than God’s word for your life?
Nike’s tag line is “Just do it,” and that’s the message we hear over and over in many areas of life. Tony Robins and other self-help Gurus have sounded that horn for decades. The secret to changing your life isn’t will power, it’s knowing and facing head on, the truth through God’s word.
Ephesians 4:20-24
That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
We need to hear from the Lord, through His word, prayer, and other believers. If we are honest about our relationships, our failures, and our weaknesses, we can experience real life transformation.
We are in a spiritual battle and the father of lies is trying to cause us to live as though his lies are true. When God replaces Satan’s lies with His truth, we experience freedom in Christ.
John 8:31-32
To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Often what we read or watch, is noise that leads us away from God’s truth. These deceptions and half-truths will keep us stuck in our difficult moments. Personal change starts with the truth of God’s word, and that truth will set us free in Christ Jesus.
Today, make a decision to face and obey God’s truth and you will experience true life transformation. Reflect on these scriptures and ask, what is the Holy Spirit saying to you? Then wait for His answer.
