Many Christians are losing more battles than they would like to admit. We can experience more victory in our lives if we learn to fight Biblically. Who or what are our enemies? The world (Sociological Opposition)
1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
What’s our defense? We need to evaluate temptations. Is this temporal pleasure worth the eternal price tag that it comes with? The Flesh (Physiological opposition)
Ephesians 5:15-18
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, The Devil (Supernatural opposition)
1 Peter 5:8-9
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
How do they primarily attack believers?
The Devil is a real enemy who is in opposition and rebellion against God. He usually attacks through debilitating accusations and lies. Often, mental attacks in the mind, carried out by demonic spirits. What’s our defense?
If we are led by the Spirit, we will not be ruled by the desires of the flesh.
