Don’t Live With A Guilty Conscience

Don’t Live With A Guilty Conscience

How have you seen guilt affect you physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually? Do you want to things to change? So, lets turn to His word.

Romans 3:22-24

This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

God doesn’t just give us a few times to get things right, He knows we are in need of His strength and forgiveness for a lifetime. All of us are broken, some of us are just better at hiding our brokenness. When we are open and honest with the Lord about our struggles, He meets us in our pain and brings wholeness and transformation.

Proverbs 28:13

Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy
.

You don’t have to live with guilt. Living with guilt is extremely exhausting and unhealthy. Guilt causes anxiety, and damages us mentally, emotionally, and physically. God doesn’t want us living under the heavy burden of guilt, He wants us to be experiencing freedom, peace, and joy in Him. How many people live in and out of the doctor’s office because guilt is eating away at them. If we try and hide our sins from God, we won’t experience His mercy. So how do we get rid of our guilt? It starts by being real with God. When we blow it, and we all will, over and over, we need to confess our sins to our powerful and loving God. We can experience freedom from the same old cycle of sin, guilt, anxiety, and brokenness, followed by more of the same. We know that God forgives freely, instantly, and completely. Remember, God isn’t surprised by our confession, He already knows the truth. When we are real with God, we stop looking over our shoulder, waiting for the shoe to drop.

What keeps you from being real with God and asking Him to forgive you?  Is there something you need to ask God forgiveness for today?

Romans 8:1

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
