Coming Back Together
Ephesians 4:1-3
Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. 2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. 3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.
It’s been two years since we stopped mandated social distancing because of Covid. I think most of us know people who haven’t been able to move on without fear or anxiety. We often deal with depression and discouragement by stepping away from others.
We are created in the image of God and that means we are highly social beings in need of experiencing the love of God and other people. When we isolate, it’s easy to become self-focused and struggle with hearing God’s truth. This is a time to focus on connecting with God and others, but it will only happen if we are intentional. Now is the time to go after Gods truth with every available resource we have.
Proverbs 2:1-5
1 My child, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—
3 indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
Are you struggling with sin, depression, fear, anger, or bitterness? Do you find groups intimidating and prefer to be by yourself for long periods of time? What if we seek what God has to say about navigating through these difficult waters? Let’s search God’s word as if we were searching for a great treasure?
Let’s turn our ears to God’s wisdom so we can be mental, emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual whole. When we take our eyes off ourselves and focus on the One who is holy and sovereign, we can share a bounty that can give us a real treasure that heals us from the inside out. You can join the adventure of a lifetime by searching God’s word with other treasure hunters. Are you involved in a bible study or a group that reads through the bible together?
What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through these scriptures?
