Romans 3:10
As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one”.
We all have a good reason to feel guilt and shame. Not one of us is righteous. We are all selfish and we hurt the people around us, especially those closest to us.
God is holy, and sin and God cannot go together. When we try to hide our feelings of guilt from God, anxiety and shame become our closest friends. Are we destined to the discouragement of shame and guilt forever? Why do you think that drug addiction and alcoholism are running rampant in our world. People don’t want to keep feeling shame and guilt, so they try to escape. There is only one way to be free from guilt and shame.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Isaiah 53:5-6
But He was pierced for our offenses, He was crushed for our wrongdoings. . . All of us, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the Lord has caused the wrongdoing of us all to fall on Him.
Confessing our sins to God and trusting that He will forgive us, is the only thing that will stop our shame. Confession means we agree with God that we are wrong, and He is right. I am so thankful that all my sin has been paid for already by Christ Jesus dying for my sins on the cross.
We can’t tell God He’s right if we don’t know Him through faith. When we confess our sins, God always forgives us. Remember, God doesn’t forgive us because we deserve it, nun of us do. When we sin, we turn away from God, but God doesn’t turn away from us. When we confess our sin, we turn back to God, and we become whole again.
Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
If we don’t feel forgiven it means, we don’t understand God’s love.
