Are You Struggling To Grow Deeper In Your Faith?
Do you struggle with accepting God’s love? Why?
Do you focus on the dos and don’ts of your faith more than love? Confusion
creates uncertainty and hesitation. So often we think we don’t love God
enough and that’s why we keep struggling with growing deeper in our
relationship with the Lord. I think scripture makes it clear that the greater
problem is that we don’t understand how much God loves us.
1 John 1:9
We love because God first loved us.
So when we think and feel that we don’t love God, we’re actually struggling
with a wrong perspective on where love originates. The truth is we don’t
understand the depth of God’s love for us. God is love, so when we
struggle with our calling and commitment, we are not grasping God’s loving
nature. God created you to be loved by Him.
Ephesians 1:3-5
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has
blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms
because we are united with Christ. 4 Even before he made the world,
God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in
his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by
bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted
to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
We love God because we are loved by Him even before we were created.
This is where our peace of mind and confidence in our faith comes from. If
we don’t understand this truth, it’s going to be impossible for us to know
and live out our purpose.
We can be brilliant, successful, and talented, but if we don’t know how
much God loves us, we will miss out on our calling, our joy, and our peace
of mind. Don’t focus on obeying God, focus on His love for you and love
Him back through obedience.
